rs-forever's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Snow Gods It snowed 20 inches! My work was canceled preemptively. We woke up at 5:30 AM randomly. Checked Ryan's work status. His work was canceled too! We were so very happy! I stepped out on the porch in PJs and got some pictures of the snow. Then went back to bed at woke up at 11! Helped the landlord shovel the snow. Dug our cars out then shoveled them so the landlord could plough the snow. We dressed very warm to go for our walk. I wore three full sleeved t-shirts, one over the other. Snow pants over jeans over tights. Cut my socks up to make hand warmers. Wore my warm coat, balaklava hat. And out we went with Kitty. Kitty was so curious and then so afraid of the snow. We put him on shoveled ground and he could walk just fine. Then we put him in the 20 inches and he did not know what do to do. He would gingerly place his paw on the snow, and it would sink. Startled he would pull it back. Then he worked his charm on Ryan (Daddy) who carried him. Kitty was so relieved. He looked imploringly at Ryan to be taken back home. Ryan undid his leash. Usually Kitty would run away. This time he walked straight home. He was so excited to be back! Gave rubs to everything he could lay his cut little face on. Ryan gave him so food and he was ecstatic! Then we went for a walk and took the little blocked road that goes past the power lines. Walking through 20 inches of snow is not easy. But not too hard when you are dressed right. We made snow angels. We went all the way out and just lay on the snow. Heard the wind come through the leaves. When it finally got to us, it would make snow fly over. My feet were cold. Ryan's too, perhaps, but he never complains. We lay for a long time until I was afraid that we would fall asleep and get covered by snow... We walked along our usual path and got home. We were out for four hours and had such a good time.
