We walked in the woods outside of Ryan's parents house late on Christmas eve. We went past the power lines, into the open area in the woods with the huge rocks, which remind me of summer vacations in Hyderabad, India. Hot, sticky, sweet memories of sitting on rocks with my cousins and eating khalakhan (milk sweet)in the hot Deccan sun. But this story is for another day. When we walked past the power lines, into the open area in woods with the huge rocks, the moonlight fell unobstructed by the tree cover all around us. We stood for a while watching in wonder this new world around us. The littlest pebbles on the ground glittered back in the moonlight. Because I do not stand steady and sway around ever so slightly, they seemed to twinkle. Suddenly, we were in this universe with infinite stars all around us. And we were just two soul mates floating through it. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed.
