rs-forever's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day out at Salem We went to Salem today for the dentist's appointment and Quark's car inspection. We woke up at 6, and planned to leave at 7, but there was snow and ice all over Quark, and it was 7:30 by the time we left. We would reach the doctor's office only at 10:00 for a 9:15am appointment. So we called up and canceled it and asked the receptionist to call us back if there was a vacancy later. We were passing by Hopkinton, and we stopped for gas. The gas price was only $15, and we thought gas prices are really low - but turned out that there was something wrong with the previous pump and we had not filled up entirely afterall. Then we sneaked into EMC behind some other engineers. We went to the bathroom - then fixed ourselves coffees and walked around without anybody asking us questions. We wanted to see the exact place where Ryan worked in - but somebody he knew was there - so we quietly walked out. On our drive out of the EMC campus - we got a picture of a crow in mid flight :) The Mini Mart was owned by two Indians, and when Ryan went to pay for the gas - they had things like 'Horny Goat Weed' and other things at the checkout counter. We giggled about it as we drove away. We were allowed to have two free coffees from this place because we refilled gas there - but we did not. While at EMC the dentist's office had called saying there was an appointment for 12:00 open. So we went there right after we visited EMC. At the dentists' we were both sleepy. I slept with my head on Ryan's shoulder for a while. Then to save him embarrassment (he insisted I did not embarrass him) I put my head against a wall and slept. There was a big aquarium there with salt water fish. The yellow funny-faced fish was my favorite and the clown fish was Ryan's favorite. The clown fish was like Nemo :) After the dentist appointment, we drove for the car inspection, for which we were late too. The dentist took too long! While we waited there we got some square candy and then some M&Ms from a vending machine. Then the auto mechanic came by and told us we were all set :) We paid him, and went out to greet Quark and admire the shiny new Jul 08 sticker. After this we drove around Salem, and ate at the mall. A little girl was riding the carousel with her mother. We ate at the Japanese place there. Ryan did not like the food much. Then we walked into a candy store and bought all kinds of fancy candy. Ryan was happy like a little child in that store! Then we walked around some more and went to H&M where I bought a very pretty dress. I might wear this for (his) Aunt Kathy's birthday party on Saturday :) We hunted around for the winter snow boots at Bob's - but they did not have Sorel! Then we went to Marshalls and another Broadway shoes store to look for dress boots for me. I did not like anything and Ryan was super sleepy, so we left shortly. Then we drove over to Uncle Harry and Aunt Kathy's house. Here we had dinner with them and Boo. Jim came over for a while. He sounded very happy about Lauren. I think I like her too (even if I did not meet her) because she got her dog from a shelter. Then he left and we came back downstairs to repair the computer. Ryan does most of the work - I am just organizing pictures - facebook-ing and now diaryland-ing *guilty*. We will go to bed in a while, and tomorrow will be another day and we will love each other as much if not more :) I love Ryan very much. He means the world to me. **** Yesterday we went to Army Barracks store to get the lining for Ryan's military jacket. They had ordered us the lining - but when we went to the store to pick it up they did not have it anymore :( Then we went to Table and Vine and bought some Sake. We both looked rather wistfully at the expensive Sake. But I told Ryan we would buy it at some point :) We also got some wine - which we picked out of hundreds of others. The reason: it said 'Dragon' on it :) At home we made Massaman curry, watched the news while we ate it, read the Hobbit, tried out the new Sake and wine, and then went to bed :) <3 :* 1:11 a.m. - 2009-01-09 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
